Buffett’s company berkshire hathaway bought a big stake in byd in 2008 (about 10% of the company) because buffett was persuaded by his partner charlie munger that byd had strong long-term potential — especially due to its battery technology and position in electric vehicles (evs).
Cnbc
Byd started as a battery maker and electronics company, then became a major ev maker that could produce cars and batteries at lower cost than many rivals.
The motley fool

📉 But — berkshire hathaway sold all its byd shares in 2025
After holding the investment for about 17 years, berkshire hathaway completely exited its byd a few minutes ago details and client to get the best of my life 🧬 You can 6stake, meaning it sold to the original all its shares.
